Spend an afternoon in Ravencourt Park, W12, learning the fundamentals of design, shaping, sanding, and carving with trained cabinet maker and Design Technology teacher, Adam Findlay.

Under Adam’s expert guidance, you will craft a butter knife, letter opener, spoon, spatula, or a small totem/fiddlestick to keep in your pocket, starting from a blank piece of beautiful, sustainable timber.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with your hands and develop a valuable skill, suitable for all ages from 8 years and up.

Testimonials

"We cannot tell you just how much we enjoyed our morning with you, Bruno and Friday (the rabbit).

It was a magical experience and we loved every moment of it. It was a bit like going into parallel universe, I think that it may have had a bit to do with Friday. Bruno was so sweet, patient and very rightly proud of you and you are a wonderful teacher, as Emma said, "he is so very kind and he taught us so much about trees."

We absolutely love our butter knives, even if mine looks like a fish inspired subliminally I am sure by your wondrous fish. I would love to make some fish!"

"Frank had a fantastic time and he is usually very unenthusiastic about holiday activities!  I think it's a wonderful class.  We will definitely be back. Thank you."

"My eight year old and his friends absolutely loved their workshop. Adam's calm, kind manner and great sense of humour kept the kids engaged and inspired throughout. They were fascinated by Adam's skills and knowledge, soaking up delightful wood and nature trivia as they whittled away. At least three of them are now slightly obsessed with sandpaper grades - so take that, iPad! Each of the children are very proud of what they have made. As a birthday treat for boys and girls, you can't beat it.

Huge thanks.  We will be back."

"I am writing to thank you for the engaging and super fun workshop that we attended on Sunday.

We all enjoyed it so much and it was fantastic to leave with our own creations.

Your patience and lively way of sharing information and skills with us was much appreciated and what a bonus to meet Friday and Sherlock!

Big thank you from all of us."
