Katherine Low Settlement

Bringing Battersea together since 1924

Katherine Low Settlement (KLS) is a much-loved, busy charity that has been at the heart of the community in Battersea since 1924. We work to reduce poverty and isolation and bring the community together and are located on Battersea High Street just a few minutes walk from Thomas's Battersea.

Our core programmes support older people, children, families from refugee backgrounds and newly-arrived adults: over 500 local people a week use our services.

We are always looking for volunteers to work alongside older people, to help adults improve their English and to support families from refugee backgrounds. Click HERE to see the roles we have available.

Testimonials

"Thank you for all your support regarding my daughter and her education. I’m so grateful that you were able to take this case and support my daughter through very challenging and difficult times. It was a wonderful feeling to know there was somebody like you to advocate for my daughter." Parent of one of our young people

"Coming to KLS has made a big difference to my life. Before, I was so shy and staying home, but since I start coming to KLS, I feel alive again. I’m like a newborn." Adult English Language student

"Katherine Low is my family. I would be lost if I didn’t have KLS”. An Over-60s member
